FRENCH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL “VICTOR SEGALEN” ASSOCIATION LIMITED
EXTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS (Version effective: 1 July 2024)
2.7. Extra-Curricular Activities and Holiday Camps
2.7.1. ECAs and Holiday Camps are non-compulsory and are offered at a fee which may vary depending on the activity. The list of ECAs and corresponding ECA Fees are
communicated before the start of each Financial Period in which the ECAs will take place.
2.7.2. Payment and refunds:
2.7.2.1. Once an ECA is started, the ECA Fees must be paid in full. ECA Fees are non-refundable (subject to clause 2.7.6). For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation of the ECAs or any session thereof by FIS due to adverse weather conditions, government mandated school closure or withdrawal from one or more sessions of the ECA by the student will not give rise to any entitlement to a refund of any ECA Fees. FIS may decide at its reasonable discretion to cancel an ECA session or cease offering the ECA in question.
2.7.2.2. Holiday Camp fees are due in full once registration is confirmed, and are invoiced by FIS according to the ECA calendar found on the Parent Portal. No changes will be permitted after registration. Cancellation of a Holiday Camp due to adverse weather conditions will not give rise to any right to a refund or to any make-up session. Where a Holiday Camp is cancelled due to suspension of school mandated by the EDB, the remaining sessions will be refunded pro-rata, subject to an administrative fee of HK$100 per refund.
2.7.3. FIS may at its sole discretion organise make-up sessions in respect of cancelled ECA sessions. If FIS does not organise any make-up session in respect of one or more cancelled ECA sessions, this shall not give rise to any entitlement to a refund or reimbursement, or any other remedy unless stated otherwise in these Terms and Conditions.
2.7.4. All ECA Fees shall be invoiced in accordance with the ECA calendar found on the Parent Portal. Students who sign up for an ECA after the ECA has already started may, at FIS’s sole discretion, benefit from a pro-rated ECA Fee taking into account the number of
sessions remaining in the semester or Academic Year, as applicable.
2.7.5. If the number of students drops below the minimum number required for any ECA or Holiday Camp at any time during the course of that ECA or Holiday Camp, the remaining ECA or Holiday Camp sessions may be cancelled at FIS’s sole discretion and Parents will be notified of the cancellation in writing. Any ECAs cancelled pursuant to this clause 2.7.5 shall not be invoiced if the cancellation occurs before any session of the ECA has taken place.
2.7.6. If the invoice has already been issued and payment has been made for an ECA or a Holiday Camp which is subsequently cancelled pursuant to clause 2.7.5 above, Parents shall be refunded for any sessions that have not yet taken place. Any refund provided in accordance with this clause 2.7.6 shall not apply to sessions that have already taken place prior to the cancellation. Parents shall remain liable to FIS for ECA Fees incurred in respect of ECA sessions that have already taken place if they have not already paid the ECA Fees at the time of receipt of the notice of cancellation from FIS.
