How to register?
When will the ECA registrations open? |
You can view our step-by-step guide with the ECA registration process here. The ECA registration for Term 2 for Early Years, Primary and Secondary Termly ECAs will be held on: |
Why are there 2 rounds for registration in primary? |
To ensure that every child who signs up for an ECA is assigned to at least one activity during the initial round of registrations. However, please note that Yifan Mandarin, Supervised homework and French Plus are exceptions for which the limit does not apply in Phase 1 of registrations. |
Why are ECAs in primary per term?
|
The ECA programme for primary pupils is structured by term, giving pupils the opportunity to explore and participate in a variety of new activities throughout the school year. This structure increases the likelihood that pupils will try and engage with different activities and interests. |
What happens if there are not enough registrations for one of the activities?
|
If there is an insufficient number of students registered, the activity will be cancelled and parents will be notified prior to the start. |
Can my child join an ECA during the year?
|
Primary: Yes. However, because our ECAs in primary last for a term only, they can join only within the first 2 weeks of the ECA program. Enrollment for a child's chosen extra-curricular activity (ECA) is subject to the availability of the selected program. The full amount of the term will be charged. |
Why aren't there more ECA offerings?
|
The ECA team must take into account the availability of ECA coaches and venues/locations when planning the ECA schedule. |
CALENDAR
What are the ECA dates in 2024-2025?
|
The ECA term dates can be found on the ECA calendar. |

INVOICING
How and when do I pay for my child's ECAs?
|
The ECA fees will be charged on your school invoice, according to our ECA invoicing calendar. |
SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
Is the ECA shuttle bus free of charge?
|
For Early years & Primary, the ECA fee covers the cost of the shuttle bus service for participants, so there is no additional charge for using the shuttle bus. Please note that there are limited spaces available. |
How do I register for the ECA shuttle bus?
|
ECA shuttle bus registrations can be done through the transport module on Eduka (click on the Bus icon on your homepage). Only for Early years and primary students. |
Can my child take the ECA bus if he or she is not registered to an ECA? |
Due to the limited seating capacity of the ECA shuttle, only students enrolled in an ECA on that day are permitted to utilise the ECA shuttle bus service. Only for Early years and primary students. |
I registered my child for a yearly ECA, but my Shuttle bus booking is for Term 1 only.
|
Our online shuttle bus booking system is per term. We will automatically pre-book you for the next term if your child is registered to a yearly ECA, there is no need to register again. |
ATTENDING ECAs
How will my child know where to go at the end of the school day?
|
At the end of the school day, the class teachers bring the students to the ECA meeting point where the ECA teachers/coaches take attendance for the students and take over. |
Can my child have a snack before the ECA?
|
Yes. It is recommended for the students to have a snack prior to their ECA. They will have a short break at the ECA assembly point. |
What to do if my child cannot attend his/her ECA?
|
Early years & Primary: Fill in the Vie Scolaire form so that all relevant departments are aware. |
What is the difference between an ECA and a Club?
|
An ECA involves a fee, and takes place after school hours; while participation in a Club is free of charge and typically scheduled during school hours. |
Are the ECAs held on campus?
|
All ECAs for primary & Early years are conducted on campus, except for the FIS Sports Team in JL, which takes place in external courts in Wong Chuk Hang or Happy Valley. |
Can my child attend a BPR ECA if he is a TKO student?
|
Yes, all secondary students can attend ECAs in BPR and TKO, whichever campus they are enrolled in. |
My child finishes class at 3.30 but his ECA is only at 4.30, where can he wait?
|
All students are welcome to either go to the study room or the library to read or do their homework while waiting for their activities to start. |
What happens if my child cannot attend several sessions for medical reasons (broken leg, surgery….)
|
Parents are required to provide a medical certificate for their child. Please note that only 4 or more consecutive missed sessions will be allowed to be credited back for medical reasons. |
CANCELLATIONS
Can I sign out from an ECA?
|
Once an ECA has started, the ECA Fees must be paid in full and are non-refundable. Parents are, however, allowed to switch their child/ren to another ECA after the first session, if availability allows it. Please read the Terms & Conditions here. |
Are there make-up sessions if an ECA class is cancelled?
|
In the event of the absence of a teacher or coach, a substitute will be designated to conduct the ECA class. If this is not possible, the session will be cancelled and a make-up class will be scheduled. No make-up lessons will be organised in the event of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions or government mandated school closure. |
